He who knows other men...

"He who knows other men is discerning; he who knows himself is
intelligent. He who overcomes others is strong; he who overcomes
himself is mighty. "
Tao-Tê-King

And again and again we encounter the comparison of inner and outer world. What is important for you? Would you prefer violence or strength? There is always an inside and an outside and every single moment we have the choice. Let's make up our mind.

I have read somewhere that the greatest enemy one has - is herself.

I believe before we can understand others,we have first to understand ourselves.

We come to know ourselves through others.

When we achieve inner peace and contentment, we spread this to other people - as they say- we cannot give what we don't have.

The vital thing is the inner traits we have much more than the outer.

As a christian ( and I know even other religions too - I do not discriminate) I believe what Jesus said that what comes out of our mouth (from our hearts) is what make/s us dirty and not what goes in. This is not to be taken literally but, it says that what you are inside is what you really are.

I've read also somewhere that character is what you are, when no one is looking.

Thanks for sharing.

… dear Ray, thank you, the choice is obvious, isn’t it… please, know that everything you write is interesting, and that I am really sorry I cannot read German… but that’s a long story… now, this is for you, the beauty of life - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiBU9FwaXr8 (sorry, too, for this old habit of mine... but accept a gift that is given in the spirit of new consciousness and new energy)… a “satisfied” reader, and a lady in red (oh, but we are many, and I do count on your sense of humour)…

Dear jena isle, I agree with your reasoning. What nobody can witness in daily life is our greatest challenge and it will always be hard to cope with it, as long as we live, that is my belief. Blessings

Dear rain-bow-bridge, thank you for the link. I enjoyed the video... Blessings to the lady in red.

dear williemz thanks for the drop.

Perception of strength is always relative. Some human beings favor building on the external self, seeking external approval, and reaching for things that are measurable and quantifiable in the physical. Other human beings turn inward and discover another path to mental and psychological growth. As people learn to stop judging what is right or wrong, better or worse, then they begin to listen to their inner selves and make choices that feel good.

there is a constant battle inside us all... the battle between mind and matter... between the mind and heart... between an individual and the world... that is internal as well...

Ray we do have a choice... I chose to live in myself... grow... and somehow bring the outside world within... I have not figured out either steps yet but I am working on it...

Great post
