Misandry, Am I A Manhater ?

In a comment I was told that I sound like a man-hater.

Am I that?

Well, my opinion is that we are first and foremost human beings. Human beings who look male or female. A man who first and foremost thinks of himself as a human being and secondarily as a man has done a big step toward leaving status thinking behind.

Patriarchy associated with the male role certain behavior. Men will in times of war and danger for life and possession take action that hurt other humans to maintain their interests.

I served in the Army, I learned martial arts, had my nose broken and other things. I had my part of male socialization, in which blood flows to be a tough guy. All well and good. Men should be strong. If a man chooses strength I would not take that as hateful attitude.

In my blog I occupy myself with lightness, transience, the flight of the soul. People who believe in their status are heavy, they will not unfold their wings.

People who know the meaning of social status and do not mistake status with themselves are lighter. And certainly there are many men who are lovable and who primarily understand themselves as a human being. A man, who lives his role in patriarchy without reflecting his behaviour, to him I may in my opinion offer a thought impulse by feeding something back, which concerns the role.

So, dear men, do not wear each cap which I exhibit here, if it doesn't fit you - I only indicate some sort of mental weights, obstructions for mental takeoff....

And as a small apology for hurt feelings I attach music ....

I didn't know you listen to Elton John, Ray. I have a question, being light winged as you are, do you equate "lightness" with age? because I don't I feel I'm still as light as a feather. What if I tell you, I'm really 25?

Cheers and happy blog hopping.

Btw, nice choice of music. I like the humility of the song and of course the post as usual is thought provoking.

I think it's good that someone felt a need to share his perception of you as it has given you a chance to elaborate on and clarify your worldview and it gives others a chance to do the same with theirs as they compare and contrast, discover similarities and differences and thus get a fresh chance to ask 'Why do I think and feel this way?'

Jena, if I may share my experience...When I was your age, I felt a lot 'heavier' than I do now and I even looked it i.e. looked a lot older! I was carrying the weight of the world, taking myself way too seriously and preoccupied with judging - myself and others.

Over the years, I have been learning the art of 'lightness' which is really the he-art of compassion for myself and others. It has taken years off me :-) And I feel so much more at peace.

Blessings!

I find myself perplexed by this... you needn't apologize for the lack of understanding of one, or even many. Manhater? Interesting... I find I could feel no such emotion in your place of peace and wisdom. I give you the title "humanlover" Thats appropriate!

I find people are quick to point fingers and shout names when the pain of insecurity calls... and for those who listen... it comes to disturb those who do not... Ignorance in this case isn't bliss

Strength is beautiful, cruelty is not.

Mildness is beautiful, weakness is not.

Everything to its place, in this "the best of all worlds".

Thanks Ray, no need for apologies.

Good response. Never apologize for the truth or for someone else's misconceptions.

what a humble, thought-provoking post. you are, as usual, a sensitive soul who writs so poetically and full of wisdom.

"People who believe in their status are heavy, they will not unfold their wings."

so, so true...

Dear jena, well would I equate lightness with age? Maybe when we are young, we often start with fewer burdens.
For me lightness is an attribute of our energybody which will accumulate external fibres during life, if we don't get rid of them through cleansing....

I like Elton John but I do not hear him often...

Dear lucy,

I agree with you. Comments are welcome and I can learn from other folks, how they perceive me. I can learn to express myself better...Usually Blog posts are shorter than other types of text, thus there is always room for misunderstandings and clearer expressions....

Thank you for your vivid comment...Happy Blogging

Dear enreal,

thank you for this fine title...it makes me blush a little bit...;-)

Yes you are right, I don't have to apologize, but I had the feeling I should point it out because it is a matter of hidden assumptions, which a new reader would miss.....
Thank you for being here...Happy blogging...
